River Canoeing PDF Print E-mail
The canoeing trip takes place in the picturesque Signaldalen valley on the beautiful river of Signal. You will paddle down stream, passing the steep mountain Otertind, a signature peak in the area. The river is not dangerous, so the adventure is suitable for absolute beginners to canoeing. Paddling is a nice way to view the nature and landscape and at the same time participate in the elements. A thorough instruction will be held before starting. Two guests will paddle each canoe, wearing life vests. English speaking guides will accompany you all the way, making sure you are safe. The guiding also includes an insight to the areas fauna and geology. Due to topography and low water dept, reduced speed is kept in some parts of the river. The total down stream distance is approximately 6 km, and there will be a resting break on the river bank half way. At the end of the journey you reach Camp Oter, a small tent camp by the river. A warm lunch based on local traditions will be served in the lavvu (big Sami Tent) at Camp Oter.

We pick you up on our bus or minibus in the town centre of Tromsø, by the hotel Rica. The town centre is very compact, so you will easily find the pick up point. We then transport you a 90 minute drive out in the wilderness, to the starting point for the down river canoeing.
