Activities & Overnight that’s Nice and Easy

Package with Northern Lights Evening, overnight stay, Sami culture & Reindeer sledding

Looking to combine Arctic nature, culture and authentic Northern Norwegian winter adventures in a relaxing way? Our “Nice and Easy” overnight package enables you to combine lots of action in the Arctic wilderness with an overnight stay in rustic accommodation at our wilderness centre Camp Tamok, a 75-minute scenic drive from downtown Tromso in Northern Norway.

On this exciting yet relaxing overnight tour, we have selected activities that provide a genuine Arctic wintertime experience. We start with a Northern Lights evening and, after spending a relaxing night at the Wilderness Cabin, it is time for a Sami culture & Reindeer sledding experience. This adventure will require some physical effort, so it is an ideal choice if you feel energetic and ready to participate.

This package allows you to experience the unique late evening atmosphere at Camp Tamok. Our guides and hosts will ensure you feel comfortable and welcome and, if you are lucky, you will experience the Northern Lights in the wilderness.

Highlights: scenic transfers, Northern Lights visit, Sami culture & Reindeer sledding, overnight stay in the Wilderness Cabin and hot meals

Day 1

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, we will provide warm winter gear. During the Northern Lights evening, we will provide thorough presentation about the Aurora Borealis and how to photograph this natural phenomenon. We will also serve a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire. If the sky is starry at Camp Tamok, we will take you on a short hike near our wilderness centre to stay warm and experience different settings to photograph the Northern Lights. However, if it is cloudy but there are better conditions in the neighbouring valley, our guide will drive you to another spot to try to spot the Northern Lights.

You can relax by the campfire before it is time to say good night and head to your accommodation in the Wilderness cabin. The cabin has four private bedrooms and a combined capacity of eight guests. Staying in the cabin can be very social, as you can expect to meet and get to know other guests from all over the world. There is a fireplace in the living room to keep you warm while enjoying the company of your fellow travellers.

Our experienced guides will take care of you, so you feel safe and comfortable at all times.

Day 2

After waking up, enjoying scenic views of the wilderness and eating breakfast, you will head out to meet the reindeer herd. Explore the ancient part of Sami culture and try the oldest form of transport in the North. Your fascinating cultural adventure includes reindeer sledding, lasso throwing, storytelling about the Sami culture and feeding the reindeer.

After this memorable encounter with the indigenous Sami people, you will return to Camp Tamok where we will serve you a hot meal in a cosy lavvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent). You will have time to relax, exchange experiences with others and get warm before boarding the bus back to the city.
