In wintertime the camp is the starting and ending point for excursions by dog sled, snowmobile and reindeer sled. The trails start from the camp and lead into wilderness areas with no signs of human activity. The camp’s large lavvu and main cabin are where the hot meals are served after sledding, ski school, snowshoeing and other winter excursions. Camp Tamok is located in an area with optimal conditions for experiencing the Northern Lights. Although Camp Tamok is located only a 75-minute drive from downtown Tromsø, it is in a different and drier climate zone, with clear inland mountain weather. Camp Tamok exclusively built as wilderness camp for Lyngsfjord Adventure. We have found a fair balance for authentic but still comfortable holidays. Our camp is composed of traditional and rustic Northern Norwegian buildings consisting of several lavvus, timber cabins heated by wood stoves and oil lamps complementing with modern kitchen, showers and toilet facilities.
We have found the perfect location with the wilderness at our doorstep. Our Husky Kennel and Reindeer Enclosure is the mark to step into the uninhabited winter wonderland.

The Aurora Chalet is our private accommodation for two guests. One of the roof sides has a window with a bed placed right under the window, at a perfect angle for watching the Northern Lights! The cabin has electricity but no running water.

Tromsø Ice Domes
Do you want something really special? The highlight of your once-in-a-lifetime winter adventure is staying overnight in one of the few rooms of this ice masterpiece, meaning you are sharing this 600 m² ice hotel with only a limited amount of other guests. Celebrate a special occasion with your loved one in a setting of your dreams. A guide will be at your disposal from the moment you arrive at Tromso Ice Domes until you depart the following morning. You can enjoy a drink at the ice bar while admiring the stunning ice sculptures of the Arctic wildlife. The double beds in the ice rooms are surrounded by an ice frame. You will sleep in expedition sleeping bags on a comfortable mattress covered by reindeer skins.

Wilderness Cabin
The cabin has four private bedrooms and one lofts and can accommodate up to 10 guests. Staying in the cabin can therefore be very social, as you can expect to meet and get to know other guests from all over of the world. The cabin has electricity but no running water.
Price: NOK 1195,- per person, children 4-11 years: 50% discount. (Full Price NOK 1395,-) Minimum group of 6 people.
Char Cabin
The Char Cabin is a private cabin located about 100m from the camp. It is perfect for 2-4 people, and has everything a proper timber cabin should, including a loft where you will sleep. The cabin are heated by a fireplace but has no running water.

Arctic Glamping
The Arctic Glamping is a private accommodation for two guests. The dome has a window with a perfect view of the scenery and a perfect angle for watching the Northern Lights! Minimum 2 people per accommodation.
The Arctic Glamping is a private dome located on the edge of the river. It is perfect for 2 people and offers all basic comforts except for running water. The domes are heated with a heating pump and a wood stove which you might need when overnight temperatures can drop to minus degrees. Toilets and showers are at the central service building, just a one-minute walk away.
Be aware to use the firewood oven in the early morning those days it`s minus 20*C or colder.
Price: NOK 1995,- per person. Note: An evening and daytime activity is mandatory to book this overnight stay.
